Ken Leonard continues to accumulate awards on and off the football field at Sacred Heart-Griffin. The Chicago Bears nominated the Cyclones head coach for the Don Shula NFL High School Coach of the Year Award. 32 NFL teams nominate their respective coach for the honor. The award represents the best at the high school level. It's named after Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach Don Shula, who holds the record for the most wins in NFL history. This award recognizes coaches for their character and integrity, leadership, community dedication, player commitment and on-field success. The winner of the award will be announced during the 2019 Pro Bowl which airs Sunday, January 27th at 2:00 p.m. local time on Newschannel 20.
