CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCCU/WICS/WRSP) - Quarterback Brandon Peters is set to return to the University of Illinois in 2021.
Peters had a breakout season in 2019, before seeing some struggles in 2020. After the season opener against Wisconsin, Peters tested positive for COVID-19 and missed three games of the 2020 season. He started five games completing 48.7% of his passes for 429 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 136 yards and one touchdown.
He is the fourth Illinois senior to announce he will come back to Illinois, joining fellow offensive players Doug Kramer, Alex Palczewski, and Vederian Lowe.
