North Mac High golf team sets school record

North Mac High golf team sets school record (WICS)

North Mac High School is celebrating a lot this week, after their boy’s golf team made history for the school.

Every player on the golf team did so well at Regionals, they're all headed to Sectionals.

"This is the first time in North Mac history that the entire team has made it out together," said Nick Sloman, the head boys golf coach at North Back.

Justin West is the team captain.

He's been playing golf nearly a decade.

He said his senior year of high school couldn't have started better.

"It feels great, we wanted to make it to sectionals as a team,” said West.

West isn’t the only player feeling this way.

Will Downs is experiencing setting a team record as a junior.

"It takes a lot of work, you have to practice a lot and make sure you golf all of the time in the summer and make sure you put in a lot of work,” explained Downs.

Sectionals are on Tuesday.

If the team plays well, they’ll advance to State.

Many players said regardless what happens, they're just happy to have a chance.
