CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCCU/WICS/WRSP) - Another Illini standout has declared for the NFL Draft, as guard Kendrick Green plans to go pro next season.
Green's 2020 season was one of the best for an Illinois offensive player in a decade. He was named a second team All-American by USA Today, becoming the first Illinois offensive player to be named an All-American since fullback Jay Prosch in 2011, and first offensive lineman since Jon Asamoah in 2009. He was also a consensus first team All-Big Ten selection becoming the first Illini offensive player named to first team since wide receiver A.J. Jenkins in 2011, and first offensive lineman since Martin O'Donnell in 2007.
The Peoria native was the third highest rated guard in the nation according to Pro Football Focus. He finishes his career in the orange and blue with 33 straight starts on the offensive line dating back to 2018.
