Isaiah Williams and James McCourt each earn Big Ten player of the week honors in return

(WCCU/WICS/WRSP) - After missing the last two games due to contact tracing, quarterback Isaiah Williams and kicker James McCourt both made their presence known in Illinois' first win of the season on Saturday.

Williams named Big Ten freshman of the week after his first career start in which he set an Illini single game quarterback rushing record with 192 rushing yards on 31 carries.

McCourt named Big Ten special teams player of the week after making a game-winning 47 yard field goal with :03 remaining. McCourt was 3-5 on field goals, and made the game-winner after missing back to back field goal attempts in the fourth quarter giving Illinois the 23-20 win over Rutgers.
