A group of Pleasant Plains students are using their free time to give back.

A group of Pleasant Plains students is using its free time to give back.

Each year, the Beta Club gets together and targets a community needing help.

One of their main efforts is helping veterans.

They dedicate a whole week to raise money for the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.

“We feel it is our job to give back to them and let them know we are thankful for what they do,” said Reegan Smith, the president of Beta Club.

Also, this year they're gathering supply donations for a school affected by Hurricane Florence.

The group also teaches students in first and secondary school the importance of giving back,
