Illinois athletics already has several ongoing plans and projects regarding facility upgrades.
Today, another proposal put in place. A $30 million renovation and expansion of the Ubben Basketball Practice Facility.
The project will raise the money through donations and double the size of the current facility to 80,000 square feet.
The plan is pending approval from the UI Board of Trustees and once green lit, will take 3 years to complete.
Illinois basketball is entering the second season under Brad Underwood and Nancy Fahey. The coaches, along with athletic director Josh Whitman, are excited at the foundation of success the new facility will provide for recruiting and player development.
