November to Remember: SHG looks back on 2013 matchup with Washington

Five years ago, the town of Washington went through a travesty when an EF4 tornado ripped through the town on a Sunday afternoon. Just six days later, the Washington High School Panthers had to travel to Springfield to take on the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones in a Class 5A semifinal matchup. The SHG community came together to help the Washington community by feeding the team, raising over $50,000 for reconstruction and even chartered buses to help fans travel to the game.

Head coach Ken Leonard reflects on how special that game was five years ago as they get ready to face Washington this Saturday for a Class 6A second round matchup.
