Oklahoma woman tries 'bathroom excuse' to escape traffic stop, arrested after pursuit

ENID, Okla. (KOKH) — Officers arrested a woman from an Enid, Oklahoma Tuesday following a short pursuit.

Emily Jean Owings Sindt, 28, was stopped for a seat belt violation.

According to reports, the woman told officers it was her birthday; she had lost her license and had to "poop."

A check with dispatch found Owings Sindt's license was revoked and had a warrant out in two counties.

Officers reported Owings Sidnt bouncing up and down in her seat, yelling she had to "poop."

Dispatch then radioed the officers saying they would extradite her before Owings Sindt revved her engine, cursed at the officers, and drove away with her tires squealing.

Owings Sindt led officers on a pursuit that lasted several blocks before she was arrested.

A glass meth pipe with a burnt residue was found inside her car.

Owings Sindt was booked on complaints of Eluding, Reckless Driving, driving Under Suspension, No Seat Belt, No Insurance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
