If you want to step up your workout level - it’s time to mix things up and take it outdoors.

Studies show that outdoor workouts expend more energy than indoor training. That’s because outdoor exercise such as running, rowing, biking and swimming are more challenging due to constant changes in terrain. In addition, constantly changing terrain enhances connective tissue strength. Another factor, wind creates resistance, boosting your workout and pushing your body harder. Another bonus, nature is a mood elevator and increases our sense of well being.

So, breakout of the gym, grab some sunshine and fresh air to step up the intensity. And don’t forget to bring the sunblock.
